Grandma’s Glasses written by Noni (Rohini Nilekani) and brilliantly illustrated by Tanaya Vyas, published by Pratham Books is sweet story about a little girl who becomes a detective to find her Grandma’s glasses.
Little Richa’s grandma can’t see without her glasses too well and she keeps misplacing her glasses all the time. While most times, Richa is able to find them at the regular places including Grandma’s head, today they are not to be seen at all. Richa checks out the usual places. But the glasses seem lost. So Richa plays detective. How does she try and get the glasses? Like a true detective she traces Grandma’s steps through the day? But does she find the glasses at all? And if yes, where and how?
To find that out read the book. It’s adorable that the author has taken up a daily occurrence in most households and turned it into a detective sort of story. The book will make kids giggle at how Richa traces the glasses. The six year old in my house was laughing away as we read the book together.
The illustrations are bright and vibrant and enhance the storyline.I loved the illustration on the last page. It captures the nuances so very well.
Recommended for the fun and the mystery element 🙂
